The Dakota Cafe has been in business in Whitley Bay since lockdown, serving the local community with fantastic homemade sandwiches, breakfasts, cakes, teas and coffees, please checkout their Facebook page to view their cakes!
I discovered Dakota quite by chance a few years back, I wasn’t well and needed a sit down, what struck me immediately was I was asked if I was okay, so instead of the usual ‘can I take your order’
I was shown to a seat given a can of pop and once revived I placed my order, that kind of thing stays with me!
Whilst waiting for my order the owner checked on me several times, anyway I regularly return for a breakfast or a sandwich with Lisa.
The customer base is a nice mix of dog owners, the creative community and so on. The atmosphere is chilled the staff are great it’s a multi generational concern with several members of the same family serving the community! A safe and inclusive place to eat right by the Metro Station.
